Taska is committed to building a safe, transparent and trusted marketplace. Users must act responsibly, provide accurate information, respect other community members and comply with applicable laws and Taska policies.

Draft for legal review. Written for Nigeria first (NDPA 2023, FCCPA 2018, CBN payment rules) with a United Kingdom notice (UK GDPR, Consumer Rights Act 2015). It must be reviewed and approved by qualified legal professionals in each country before Taska launches there.

What is the Taska Connection Fee?

The Taska Connection Fee helps cover the costs of operating the Taska marketplace and connecting Customers with Taskers: matching, maintaining and improving the platform, Customer and Tasker support, safety and security systems, payment infrastructure, fraud prevention, moderation and technology costs. The exact fee is shown before you confirm any payment as Task Price + Taska Connection Fee = Total Amount Payable. Taska never hides fees.

For Customers

  • Before a Tasker is assigned you can cancel a task free of charge.
  • After you accept an offer and secure payment, you can cancel while the Tasker has not started. Task funds are refunded; the Connection Fee outcome depends on responsibility (below).
  • Once the Tasker has started you cannot cancel directly — report a problem so Taska can review both sides before any money moves.

For Taskers

  • You can withdraw from a hire before starting; the Customer is refunded in full.
  • If you withdraw after starting, the Customer is refunded in full and a cancellation fee (set by Taska, currently a percentage of the task price) is recorded against your account.
  • Repeated withdrawals affect your reliability and are reviewed by the Taska team.

Connection Fee when a task is cancelled

Customer not responsible (for example the Tasker became unavailable, a genuine safety concern, or you could not agree on arrangements): eligible task funds are refunded and the Connection Fee is refunded where this policy and the law allow.

Customer responsible (plans changed, task no longer needed, scheduling, incorrect details, duplicate posting, other): the Connection Fee may be non-refundable, subject to this policy and applicable consumer-protection laws. You are warned and must confirm before cancelling.

Refund eligibility depends on the circumstances of the cancellation and Taska's applicable cancellation and payment policies.

Refund options and status

  • Original payment method — where available and legally permitted; typically 5–10 business days once the bank confirms.
  • Taska Credits (wallet) — immediate, for future use on the platform.
  • Statuses: Refund Processing, Refund Completed, Refund Not Approved — visible in Payments and in your notifications.

Repeated task cancellations

Repeated cancellations harm Taskers, Customers and the reliability of the marketplace. Taska does not suspend automatically after a set number. Instead an account review considers the number and frequency of cancellations, the reasons, whether you were responsible, previous warnings, suspicious behaviour and possible abuse. An authorised administrator reviews the account before any serious action: warning, temporary restriction, temporary suspension (24 hours to 30 days) or permanent suspension in serious or repeated cases.

Notifications and records

Every cancellation, refund, restriction or suspension is notified in-app, by email and by SMS where enabled, explaining what happened, why, the refund and Connection Fee outcome, next steps and how to contact support@helptaskaonline.com. Records are linked to the Task ID and User ID and kept securely.
