Draft for review. This document was prepared as a working draft with the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 and NDPC guidance in mind. It must be reviewed and approved by a qualified Nigerian lawyer or data protection professional before Taska launches publicly.
What Taska is
Taska is a platform that helps people who need a task done find people who can do it. We are not the employer of the people who use Taska, and we are not a party to the agreement between a customer and a tasker, unless a separate written agreement says otherwise.
Taskers work for themselves. They decide what work to accept, how to price it and how to do it, and are responsible for their own tax and any licences their trade requires.
Acceptable use
Use Taska honestly and lawfully.
- You must be 18 or older and use your real identity.
- One person, one account. No impersonation, no fake accounts, no fake listings.
- No illegal, unsafe, discriminatory or sexually exploitative tasks.
- No harassment, threats, hate speech or abuse.
- No scraping, reverse engineering or attacking the platform.
- No taking payment or communication off-platform to avoid fees or protections.
Your responsibilities
Keep your login details private, keep your profile accurate, and tell us promptly if you think your account has been compromised.
Customer responsibilities
Describe the task accurately, provide safe access to the site of the work, fund the task before it begins, and pay agreed amounts for work that is completed.
Tasker responsibilities
Only accept work you are competent and legally allowed to do, turn up when you say you will, quote honestly, and hold any insurance or licences your trade requires.
Task listings
Listings must be genuine, lawful and clear about what is required and what will be paid. We may remove listings that break these rules.
Payments and fees
Payments are made in Naira through the platform. Task funds are held in escrow and released on completion. Taska charges a service fee, disclosed before you commit. Paying outside Taska removes escrow, cover and support.
Cancellations
Either side may cancel before work starts for a full refund. Late cancellation of confirmed work may attract a fee that compensates the other party.
Disputes
Raise a dispute in the app within 7 days. We will look at the task record, the messages and the evidence both sides provide, and make a decision on the release of escrowed funds. Our decision is about the funds we hold, not a legal judgment of your rights.
Reviews and ratings
Reviews must be based on real, completed tasks and be honest and fair. Do not buy, trade or threaten reviews. We may remove reviews that breach these rules.
Prohibited activity, fraud and harassment
Fraud, identity theft, money laundering, advance-fee scams, phishing, and harassment of any user will result in immediate suspension and, where appropriate, referral to law enforcement.
Suspension and termination
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or presents a safety or fraud risk. Where it is safe and lawful to do so, we will tell you why and how to appeal. You may close your account at any time.
Limitation of liability
Taska provides the platform, not the work itself. To the maximum extent permitted by Nigerian law we are not liable for the acts, omissions or quality of work of any user, and our total liability to you is limited to the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Intellectual property
The Taska name, logo, software and content belong to Taska. You keep ownership of the content you post but grant us a licence to host and display it for the purpose of running the platform.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and the courts of Nigeria have jurisdiction.
